Observation details
Continuing bird. On mudflat close to Dipsea Rd, foraging relatively near the huge colony of Elegant Terns. Dull and streaked (not marbled) gray-brown upper parts. Pale, plain belly and vent. Bill very long, slightly upturned, bicolored pink and black. Barring on upper tail just barely visible underneath folded wings. We did not see the bird fly, but assume it is the same individual photographed and identified as a Siberian subspecies (some photos showed barred underwings). Identified as an adult female by the original observer, Peter Pyle.
