Observation details
Originally found by Shawn Craik (Université Sainte-Anne) a day or two ago. He didn't tell anyone about it. Ronnie d'Entremont found it this morning and shared with the other birders. I took dad's boat out into the harbour to get better photos. Seen feeding both north and south of the wharves and often seen perched on buoys. Greg Neise commented on photos of this tern and says that it best fits the expected T.s. acuflavida (Cabot's Sandwich Tern). No 'hook' pattern on the outer primaries and thick bill.
