Observation details
Bill Oyler's notes: On 3/2 at late dusk I saw an owl that was hunting like a SEOW, but I wasn’t able to pick out enough details to be sure. Went back with a second birder 3/8 and we watched a SEOW hunt on and off for over 30 minutes. The owl was big winged, had a flat and light face, showed a light buffy underside, and pale buff patches on dark tipped wings. Flight was erratic. We watched it hunt, catch prey, and perch on ground. Photos taken. Location is private property (with owner permission) and not viewable from a road.
