Observation details
Continuing bird, about 1/4 mile further west of where it was heard the last two nights. Bad recording attached. One interesting thing about this bird is that it's monotonous toot-toot-toot song isn't perfectly regular. Oftentimes some toots are further apart or closer to each other than they should be. This recording shows a pretty regular section of tooting, but there were some wacky rhythms out there. I'm not sure if this is a regularly occurring variation in songs, or if this might represent an immature Male just learning how to sing (I know sparrows do that, although I have no idea if this happens in owls).
