Media notes
Here the raven provided a reasonably good, if somewhat dark, view of its profile. Here it seems to have its head turned ever so slightly toward its left, producing a somewhat shortened perspective on its large, long bill.
Observation details
This Chihuahuan Raven (7 photos herewith) flew in and was very cooperative. It surveyed the area from a picnic table (north side boat-launch area) and seemed not the least bothered by my standing not very far away, taking pictures. It subsequently explored the south side of the area, including a garbage can. There was a stiff wind blowing that day, which was very helpful in exposing the bases of some of its white-based body feathers, including its neck, thereby allow photography of this special feature of this species. Even the feather bases in the forehead/forecrown area are white, as shown in the final photo herewith.
