This adult Red-necked Stint in alternate plumage was photographed by Curtis A. Marantz on 30 June 2016 along the southeastern part of Villa Creek Beach, Estero Bluffs State Park, San Luis Obispo County, California. This bird was found earlier in the day at the mouth fo Villa Creek by Tom Edell and Roger and Ruth Zachary.
Observation details
(we saw the continuing adult that was found earlier in the day by Tom with Roger and Ruth Zachary as it foraged with Western Sandpipers along the southeastern part of the beach about 400 meters southeast of the creek mouth where it was found in the morning; a description will be sent to the CBRC of this bird which was seen at distances down to about 30 meters at 6:23-7:08 pm)
