Observation details
After further review the call on the field is overturned. This one is a Black-chinned. Thanks goes to JGroskopf for bringing the finer details to my attention and to LAtherton & SBackes for looking at these images and those of JSwenfurth from the other day to confirm suspicions. The wing tips are blunt rather than tapered and the bill looks to be longer than what might be expected with a Ruby-throated. The crown appears to be a full brown/green not green, and the back, too looks to be a dull green with brownish tones. Looking for a few good “still” photos of back, head and clear/focused photo of P10 tail feather. I did not see it moving around and cannot say if it did much tail-pumping, which is a Black-chinned behavior feature. Will give it a try again tomorrow. Continuing. Obviously well seen. Known location. Seen by many.
