Observation details
Photos TBA. ***rare Absolutely beautiful 1st-cycle bird loafing with the other large Larus when I arrived this morning. Bird is a bit worn, but otherwise profusely frosty white with a touch of remnant browns. Small, mostly dark bill on a petite and rounded head with a dark eye. Smaller than nearby Herring. Too pale for Thayer's gull, with bill mostly dark as well as touches of darker tones to most of plumage including outer primaries, seeming to be paler inwards with darker tones in the outer edge more noticeable as you extend out towards the outer hand, pushing out Glaucoides. Bird took off solo before 0800. I recommend being here by 0700. Most birds depart by 0830, and by 0900, you're really pushing it.
