NOTES: Background: MICROPALAMA HIMANTOPUS (AT BEGINNING); P. D. DOMINICA. MALE NEAR NEST. [The first part of this recording appears to represent the song of Calidris himantopus (0:06-0:14). The second part does involve Pluvialis dominica. The calls here appear to be first medium-intensity (0:33-0:46) and later high-intensity (1:10-1:30) "Alarm Calls" based on the terminology of Connors et al. (1993. Auk 110:9-20). Quality changed from 2 to 2, 1-2 (good signal but an odd mechamical noise in places) - CAM - 1 December 2004].
