Observation details
Seen about half way across the strait. Fairly distant but instantly identifiable. Size and flight similar to a mollymawk. Body and wings (underwing and upperwing) entirely grey-brown, with very conspicuous paler grey back. Head and bill distinctly darker, appearing black, giving bird a hooded appearance. Tail longer and more pointed than a mollymawk. Photographs taken, and will be uploaded soon.
