Observation details
Adult - rare winter gull. Very small and dainty gull with black underwings, short rounded wing tips with white edges. Bright red feet. This particular bird had a subtle pink hue to it’s breast much like a Ross’s Gull. Vocalizing continuously. Differentiated from Bonaparte’s when resting on water because of smaller size, slightly lighter mantle and lack of black primaries.
