Observation details
Seen in a bare tree pretty far along in the trail. Opposed to House Finches, the bird were darker in color and had larger bills. Less streaking on the breasts and a clear white "eyebrow" above the eye. When the flew off after a few minutes, they all made a odd 'chirp' then flew into some nearby bushes. Photos.
