Media notes
Same subjects as ML 2883. Short chatter calls ("tic-it" calls) and low, pig-like grunting. Only the two chicks were seen this time. ML: 150 Hz filter applied. BNA: Although not a particularly good recording, this cut does contain several different call-types by Rallus limicola in addition to calls by Porzana carolina. There are "grunt" calls given at 0:035-0:06, 1:27-1:31, and 1:46-1:49; series of "tick-it" calls at 0:06-0:105, 0:23-0:27, 0:28-0:345, and 0:38-0:41; and "pit-ti-ti-tip" calls that are less easily identified at 0:51-0:53, 1:55-1:56, 2:18-2:195, 2:325-2:34, and 3:02-3:04 (these possibly the "kadic, kadic" of Kaufmann, G. W. 1983. Displays and vocalizations of the Sora and the Virginia Rail. Wilson Bull. 95: 42-59). Quality unchanged (3-2 - maybe 2-3 in places) - CAM - 8 April 2005]. Habitat: Wetland, Freshwater.
