2.5' tee-yup, 1' tseet & tsew flight calls. Infrequent flight calls throughout. Some reduction of distracting low f components, 6dB NR (sorry) and normalized only to -6dB due to noise level.
Observation details
We did not see or hear sparrows until we returned to the car park, at which point I heard ATSP tseet and Liz spotted them foraging in the tree row. 0.5 m off the ground, couldn't tell what they were eating from the bare sticks though in some cases it looked like they took seeds from grass, from which they would dangle as the stalks bent over. Lots of to & fro, often feeding on the exposed front edge and offering open views. After a few minutes of foraging they had moved about 15 m along the row and started to pick up with tee-yup calls - so I approached a bit more closely and whipped out the iPhone. Managed to capture a minute of relaxed tee-yup, then a few more birds joined and the calling thickened up, and finally they switched over to flight calls. Great learning opportunity!
