Media notes
Fresh water in the Everglades. BNA: This recording begins with three examples of the "Chip" Call, said in BNA account to sound like the noise of a bicycle horn or a falsetto toot of a 17th-century trumpet. This is followed by a relatively typical "Cackle" at 0:08-0:135. The soft, clicking series in the second part (0:17-0:185, 0:25-0:29, 0:36-0:38, 0:47-0:485, 1:02-1:04, 1:10-1:115, 1:18-1:215, and 1:28-1:30) probably represent somewhat atypical Cackles (see also ML 2854). (CAM - 24 February 2005). Habitat: Wetland, Freshwater.
