Media notes
Constant playback throughout. The bird responded with "kee-kee-ker", alarm "kerr"s and guttural rattle. As the playback continued, the bird would give "threat calls" and run toward the recorder, which was on the road next to the marsh. BNA: Despite the above notes, I am unclear precisely what was played by the recorder and what was given by the bird. I suspect that all of the "kickee-doo" calls here represented playback, but that the two "Growl" Calls given in response to the palyback were by the bird (0:08-0:14, 0:26-0:33). These calls are much like those of ML 37378, but not quite identical. (CAM - 7 April 2005). Response to playback: Approach. Response to playback: Different song. Other Behaviors: Emit Alarm. Habitat: Wetland, Salt Marsh, Brackish Marsh.
