Media notes
Probably several birds in this cut. Calls heard many times - always "kee-kee-kerr". We played back the recordings to calling birds at least 3 times and each time the birds stopped calling for a long period. Weather was clear. Moon was rising and as it got brighter around midnight, bird seemed to call less. Around noon on 14 May in same area, heard a short succession of "kic, kic, kic" series, much like the first two notes recorded on 13 May, but didn't see any bird. BNA: Fifty-one examples of the primary call given by this species in the breeding season (the "kickee-doo" call of BNA and others). (Curtis A. Marantz - 7 April 2005). Sound stimulation was (other): PLAYBACK SAME SPECIES. Response to playback: No response. Habitat: Salt Marsh.
