Observation details
Continuing west of the park office. Observed eating berries from the juniper next to the office and flying back and forth between the bare trees across the road and the solar panel. It would hover (kinglet-style) as it picked berries. The bird first appeared just before 8. It stayed for 15 minutes, then disappeared and returned around 8:30. Lost track of it when the grosbeaks showed up and didn't see it again before I left. Gray bird with white eyering. Shorter bill than NOMO. Lacked tail and wing pattern of NOMO. Could see buffy-orange wing patch in flight and when preening.
