Observation details
Immature observed from RR tacks near boat launch. Bill mostly pinkish with dark area near nail and at base. It looked fairly small (for a swan) and along with that and the shape of the loral area I was able to rule out a Trumpeter. It also called a few times giving the higher pitched call typical of this species and not the deep trumpeting noise expected with a Trumpeter. Unfortunately after sitting on the water for about 15 minutes after I had arrived, it took off and flew off to the SW. The audio uploaded has two calls on it which occur almost right away and again at ~ 16 seconds amidst lots of Canada Goose calls
