The bird seemed to be loosely associating with Ring-necked Ducks. The bird was first photographed unknowingly on Nov 8th by Les Peterson. Map to location HERE Both legs of this bird are unbanded. This is the 1st record for British Columbia. If accepted by the BC BRC it will be the first accepted record for Canada. The bird was last seen in the same location on Nov 27th and was viewed by multiple observers. *The bird was not seen on Nov 28th, despite multiple observers looking.* Pasted from https://bcfo.ca/brc-round-31-nov-2021-to-april-2022-accepted-records/ Common Pochard (08 – 27 November 2020 – Summit Park, Victoria) BCBRC #2021–19 Jody Wells. First observer, Les Peterson. (Les had phot graphed but not realized it wasn't a Canvasback or Redhead0 Further PSSSS i noticed there are previous records to this elsewhere in Canada in ebird but not sure if that represents that they were accepted by the appropriate Records Committee. this record is a 1st for BC anyways.
