Observation details
In reedy vegetation at the shore at the north end of the swim beach. Like song sparrow, but bright rusty wings immediately striking. Faint thin streaks on underparts and sides of the flanks - perhaps an immature. Auriculars more brownish than our Song sparrows, contrasting with the gray supercilium. Buffy brown flanks. Seems way too colorful for juvenile Song sparrows. Typically skulky. Photos. I thought I had finally found a Swamp sparrow on my own, but later saw that it was on Jon Fisher's RBA from the previous day. Oh well. At least I saw it.
