Observation details
First observation at 0942. 1 counted on property. 1 individual(s) singing. Seen for several minutes, singing softly from alders near WIFL flats. Occasionally perching conspicuously, high in the canopy; at other times down low among the branches and hard to spot. I was surprised to see this bird here. There were still a few clusters of mostly dried-out chokecherry fruits remaining, in spite of the fire, but far too little fruit for a solitaire to defend a feeding territory. Perhaps another bird presumably wintering in the Scratchgravels on junipers, but coming down for water? I don't understand why it was singing here, though, albeit softly. Detections (number 15-minute intervals in which the species was detected): 2 on property.
