Observation details
Black-chested Snake Eagles (Circaetus pectoralis) are widely distributed throughout West, East and Southern Africa. They feed predominantly on snakes, although other reptiles, frogs and small mammals are occasionally taken. This immature Brown Snake Eagle was perching on a dead branch on the S30 Saltjie Road in Kruger National Park.
