Observation details
Small loon thin bill. When I first saw the bird I thought it was a red-necked grebe. Getting a little closer noticed it was a loon. It was silent in flight, but made a call that was different than a common loon. It soon became silent and flew towards Colebrook. This bird came in with the white winged scoters. Hung with them till it took flight. I listened to a lot of calls the closest I could find was of the red throated loon and of the artic loon.
