Calls of a Dunlin in flight. American Golden-Plover calls twice near end of cut.
An immature with some new gray back and scapulars in pond and another that flushed and was seen and heard in flight as the other sat below me. The call of the flying bird was a scraping 'kreee' that was clearly that of Dunlin. On the flying bird I could see the longish and decurved beak, grayish upperparts, whitish belly, and wing stripe. I did not age that bird. The one that foraged below me still showed much of its juvenile plumage with new, formative feathers.
