Observation details
****MEGA**** Phenomenal find by David Gabay. Great catch by John Groskopf and great job for informing the public. Thanks to Kyle for relocating the bird at ~5pm. The bird was seen on the large fig tree that is fruiting an immensely amount of fruit. The tree is located next to the playground, closest to the street. First impression upon sighting the bird was a small warbler, with white wing bars. Wings were a dull blue/gray tone. Round head with a dull yellow coloration on the face. Throat was white which may indicate immature individual. A darker coloration was noted on the lower and right behind both eyes. The underside of the bird was mostly white with the flanks showing a hint of brown tone closer to where the wing meets the body. Some darker coloration was noticed on the flanks but no streaking was observed that would hint TOWA X HEWA hybrid. The coloration extends across both flanks and a little bit on the upper part of the underside. The top of the head is yellow with a darker patch sitting right at the top of the head. The dark patch extends to the back of the head. Scapulars had a gray/brown tone with no streaking observed. Legs were black with some brown coloration observed on both feet as well.
