Observation details
We get few empids in the Ft. Davis Estate, which is within the Marfa grassland area. Seemed small even by empid standards. In the photos the gap in the chain link “diamond” shape is right at 3.5,” straight across at widest, and each of the four segments of the “diamond,” one of which the bird is grasping, is 2.5” in length. No tail-dipping. Not vocalizing. 6 photos. eBird reviewer for this county says most likely Least or Dusky, leaning toward Least.
