Observation details
Immature bird seem well through scope hawking insects over lough. Associating with black tern The entire time. They were constantly together following each other back-and-forth along the lough over large distances. only slightly larger than the tern. Thick dark black leading edge of primaries angling back across secondaries forming “M” pattern. Very small head and small black bill. Well to find your spot. Triangle shaped black tail tip. Blackhead a goal that join them occasionally was much larger than both birds. Positive ID. Distant photos.
