Observation details
A dark tern was seen along with a group of crested terns, flying with much faster and stronger wing beat, chasing a fishing boat during heavy rain. I could notice pale forehead and longer beak and I was sure it's a Noddy. It was showing a clear-cut demarcation of paler and darker areas above and below the eyes. Size was relatively smaller than the crested terns nearby with more elongated Common tern like body. I took help of Dipu K and he notes.. Dipu K: "In the image where terns are seen, I am assuming the bird appears reasonably large (smaller than crested tern, but not by a very noticeable margin). The other flight pictures also gives an impression of reasonably bulky bird. Face also looks clearly separated into dark and light halves (Lesser gives a bit more open faced impression due to pale lores). So, mostly a Brown Noddy, though I am not 100% confident."
