Observation details

Two individuals probably a couple. I was expecting Hooded in this same area by the stream and bamboo but surprised that Philippine Pitta showed up instead. Detected via its call (Audio 2). Upon rechecking audio under Hooded Pitta, it was apparent that Philippine species was previously documented but wrongly thought to be another type of call of Hooded. Two instances (July 5 and 11) where the calls of Philippine Pitta were recorded. Audio 1: Single-note short call with long pause Audio 2: Three-note call in noticeably increasing length Audio 3: Song made of one, ascending long note + short pause + and descending long note Audio 4: Call exchange between two individuals.
