Observation details
Although I never saw the nest, a pair of Western Kingbirds appeared to have a nest in a scrub willow tree. The kingbirds left and returned to the tree. One of the birds made a single sharp cheep repeatedly. Occasionally both birds made the complex calls of the Western Kingbird. At times the peeping sounds of what may have been their offspring could be heard. The morning was warm with an occasional light breeze. Few birds other than the kingbirds were calling.
