NOTES: (Breeding Status: Territorial paired. Special Song Type: Antiphonal. Behav. Context: Nest invitation. Gen. Climate: Arid. Cover Density: Medium.) Cassette counter 264-436. This pair of trogons had been "hole hunting" for about a month. This recording on 4 June includes the antiphonal song of both and the persistent, irritational subsong of the male at the cavity site. The female responds, but her interest in the nest was casual. She looked into the cavity once and then flew off a short distance--foraging, inssect hawking, or preening as she sat on a perch while the male continued his calls. He was courting and she was "coy.". Other Behaviors: Subsong, Court. Habitat: Evergreen Forest, Creek, Riparian.
