Observation details
At first glance I thought it was a brown thrasher. When viewed through binocs the bird was much grayer and the bill was shorter and less downturned than a thrasher. Song included many repeated notes and phrases. When I moved to try and get better light for another photo the bird flew and I noted white patches on the outer part of the wing. Unfortunately, I was not able to relocate the bird for more photos.
