Observation details
I have never seen/heard this bird before but it was one of my goals so I learned its voice. I have been hearing this short but sharp hissing/sizzling sound for a few days already (late in the evening) but dismissed it as some random noise. Also the location is pretty noisy with the cars and trains constantly passing by so I could not believe the sparrow is so loud I can hear it without even leaving the building. But today in a period of relative silence I heard the sound relatively clearly and decided to step out and make a recording. The habitat is a wet "meadow" on Peguis Street past the railway tracks. I hear Wilson's Snipes there every night. Also at daytime there are Savannah, Song, Clay-colored sparrows there but late in the evening they are already silent. And I usually do not hear them from inside my building unlike that "sizzling" sparrow. Also it is heard late in the evening, about between 10 pm and 1 am. I have not heard it late at night (after 1 am) although it is obviously quieter at that time. Somewhat similar to this recording: https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/31868401 (?)
