This bird was being mobbed. Other species have been edited to reduce the background noise

Observation details

Brownish (warm rusty brown patches) on back owl with light markings on the edges of the lower wing visible while perched from the side. Large pale disc, edged black, large “ear tufts” streaks on the breast. A recording of its call is submitted, which sounds like the Indian Scops-owl. This owl responded to the Merlin Indian Scops-owl call. A young owl was recorded yesterday near (10 meters) where this adult was today. Please see yesterday’s list for a clear photo of that owl which we identified as an Indian Scops-owl
