Observation details
One flushed ahead of me on a steep slope flying 15 feet into cover. Could not relocate. Then just before we left we saw one and heard a second. Tiny short bodied snipe. Odd peeping call. Photographed bird appeared to be a youngster with a few tufts of natal down on head. Other bird was probably a parent. Eventually crept away and disappeared.
