Observation details

So at the end of the day a lot of LENI will come out over the water to forage and get drinks. They are easily recognized by their long narrow wings with white bands near the tips, their bouyant flight with long straight cruises. Getting a close to accurate count was fairly simple. The birds overall liked to fly to the east end of the water and fly upwind low over the water. So I did a quick pan across the expanse counting quickly by 2s before any of the birds circled back around to the other end. A frantic method of counting but I practiced it a few times.
