Observation details
This young bird shot straight over our heads, incredibly low beneath the canopy! There's absolutely no doubt that it was a Fork Tailed Swift; what other bird of this size and colour would fly in the manor of a Swallow? The photo may resemble a Neophema of some kind, but that's because it was holding its tail closed; in every way, it was different from any parrot. This was an immense surprise, and probably the bird of the day!!
