Observation details
Foraging in grassy pasture with Canada Geese and seen 20-40 m from road. A samll goose with brown head and neck that showed cinnamon tones, silvery gray wing coverts that were white fringed, dark (slaty?) tail with broad white tail tip and fringing to rectrices, pink legs and feet, small and short bill dark pink with black at base of mandible and base of maxilla, dark near tip, eye dark brown, head comparatively small, furrows in neck sides. [update 11 November 2014] Date span: 5-28 November. This bird was first seen by Joel Wilcox on 5 November and reported in an email to the Maine Birds Google group on 6 November. Joel last reported the bird to the Maine Birds group on 28 November, with subsequent messages saying the bird was not re-found on the 29th and 30th.
