Media notes
Subtitle: Dawn Chorus. Habitat: Forest, man-made pond. Habitat types: second growth, brush, thicket, scrub, rocky, fresh and brackish water, pasture. Dominant plants: Matta pasto, cactus, pao braneo, catinguero. Note: It is usually dry scrub forest, this is the first substantial wet season in 3 years. They call it winter because it is slightly cooler, but is more like spring as we know it. Some rice is cultivated but the soil is really too rocky for planting - the people live off the cattle. The first song - chuck chuck - came from middle of large tree. Dove was low near ground. Yellow bellied screamer calls from tree tops. Cavandeira was on ground. Equipment Notes: Microphone: Uher M538. Field tape: Scotch.
