Media notes
Songs by an essentially unseen bird that was associated with a large mixed-species flock, and when recorded it was about 25 meters away and relatively high (about 15 meters up) in relatively scrubby terra firme forest but with a few tall trees growing on a ridgeline about 45 kilometers out the main road through the logging concession [08° 22’ 24.9” N, 61° 40’ 44.1” W, 90 m]. In response to playback, this bird seemed to sing more frequently and it may have flown back-and-forth overhead a few times but the large number of birds in the flock resulted in my never getting onto this particular bird. In the second part of the recording, the bird was about 18-20 meters away and 15-18 meters above the ground fairly high in trees on the opposite side of the road from where it was when initially recorded. Equipment Notes: Sennheiser powered using phantom power and with filter in flat position and attenuator off for all recordings. Nagra input set at 2 mV / Pa and low-pass filter in flat position unless noted otherwise.
