Media notes
This bird was essentially unseen but about 15 meters away and 15-20 meters up (about eye-level in a tree growing on slope below the road) in what appeared to be a Clusia tree along the steepest part of the road about half-way from the peak down to the house at the upper edge of the coffee plantation. I saw this bird only when it flew off, so I was able to get an idea of where it had been perched. This is essentially natural song, but there is a possibility that this bird heard the very weak song by this species in the background of the previous recording when I used it for playback, but even if this bird did hear the playback, there was no apparent response. Mostly clear but with a few high, thin clouds overhead and more on the horizon, with a consistent 5-10 knot breeze coming up the canyon, 73º F. I switched the Nagra filter to the cut position in the middle of this recording. ML: 150 Hz high-pass scientific filter applied in Adobe Audition CC 2015. Equipment Notes: Sennheiser powered using phantom power and with filter in flat position and attenuator off for all recordings. Nagra input set at 2 mV / Pa and low-pass filter in flat position unless noted otherwise.
