Observation details
Glaucous-winged Non-breeding adult. Most likely a hybrid. My observations: Large Silver backed white gull with yellow bill and pink legs standing on bank of pond, far inland from coast, next to Molalla River. Head white with grey and pinkish streaking around eye to ear and more light streaking of neck to the silver back. Eye is dark brown with black iris. Bill is thick. Upper is pale pink and bright yellow at base to bright yellow and pale at tip. Lower is pale pink at base out to a black jagged line and an orange-red Gonydeal spot followed by pale yellow at tip. Gonydeal angle to tip is not pronounced. Tertials of silver are tipped thickly white. Primaries are dark grey but not black and are tipped white, underside and tail is white. Pink legs are thick and not short.
