Media notes

Female ABDU calling from pond surface. Drumming RUGR up to 9 secs. Background noise: traffic and chainsaw. Distantly, a tree can be heard cracking at 38 secs and falling at 41-42 secs!

Observation details

Courtship behaviour between pairs. Much chasing and calling. Recorded. Purple speculums with no white border. None appeared to have obvious Mallard characteristics. No Mallards were seen.
