Observation details
***mega. First confirmed report for Panama. Seen and photographed first by Euclides Campos and Alexis Guevara (after being seen briefly by Euclides one week before in the same spot) three days ago. Although we only saw the bird in the nest, the obvious yellow bill (with dark culmen) and slender shape make it a cuckoo. The closed wing showed no rufous at all. From our angle it was impossible to see the undertail covert; however, this is the same bird Euclides and Alexis photographed, with whitish underparts (we only saw the throat and upper breast) and undertail pattern similar to that of the Yellow-billed Cuckoo.
