Observation details
Rick Prew and I were walking through the hayfield abutting the community garden site when he asked "What bird is that?". I could hardly contain my excitement when I saw it! A medium-size "shorebird" with a long, thin neck and small head. Prominent dark eye. Short, straight bill, rather long, yellow legs. A Cooper's Hawk cruising overhead caused the bird to take off. It flew north. This is the first one in Berkshire Co. for me ever. Thankfully I had my camera with me.
