Observation details

Seen & photographed by many others today (& I got some documentary shots, video, & audio). Appeared to be adult in basic plumage. Large grebe with moderately long, stout, mostly dusky neck; extensive yellow on long bill; whitish cheeks, throat, & front of neck; etc. Called several times shortly before dusk & just after dark, when it was swimming with 2 Common Loons.
