Observation details
A moment after all the birds flushed from the flats between the Lucy Evans nature center and the Duck Pond area, this bird appeared, carrying a coot in its talons. It landed briefly on a wooden post sticking up from the mud flats before taking off again, headed off toward the San Francisquito Creek mouth. I last saw it being harassed by a Red-tailed Hawk as it disappeared from view. I saw presumably the same bird at Cooley Landing a short while later. A bit too distant for a good photo.
