LNS note: This recording was E. difficilis. Changed to E. occidentalis following split; see AOU 1998. mf BNA: Male Position Note: "pit-PEET!" or rising whistle "wee-eee!" or "squeet!" Also quiet vocalizations that don't fit BNA descriptions, sound to me like "per-dit per-DEEt", syllables in varying combinations. Also, voc's that sound to me like "Chirr-dit" very harsh. mf. Response to playback: Approach. Response to playback: Different song. Other Behaviors: Advertise, Fight. Habitat: Forest, Evergreen Forest, Coniferous Forest, Deciduous Forest.
