Observation details
***Rare, continuing bird found yesterday, Lifer! With a small group of about 25 CANG only about 15 feet off of the road. Excellent looks in perfect light, fairly confident about subspecies identification. The pictures show pale brown margins of the scapular feathers, versus contrasting white, the short and broken white line bordering the flanks, and the not pale-edged greater coverts. While we were observing it, the bill was strikingly orange, showing no hint of pink as a North American bird would.
